PILP Sends Advocacy Letter on Behalf of Man Denied MOUD Treatment

The Pennsylvania Institutional Law Project (PILP), has sent a letter to Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (“DOC”) officials on behalf of Collin Shaab who has been incarcerated at Lancaster County Prison since March 2022. PILP is urging staff at the prison to take immediate action to prevent further harm and long-term injury to Mr. Shaab by providing him with his medically-necessary prescription, Suboxone. Mr. Shaab has opioid use disorder (“OUD”) and this treatment is medically necessary for him to lead a more stable and successful life. Read the full letter here and learn more about MOUD in Prisons.
