Ben Bowens

Ben Bowens serves as the Communications Manager for the Pennsylvania Institutional Law Project. He manages the organization's website, social media accounts, graphic design, and press outreach, among other duties. Before joining PILP, he worked as the Communications Director for the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers, Communications Director for State Senator Vincent Hughes, and the Communications Associate for the ACLU of Pennsylvania. In his spare time, he manages a photography business specializing in portraits and events. In 2017 he was named to Billy Penn’s “Who’s Next: 19 up-and-coming communications pros working to change Philly” and in 2015 was named a "Hero Among Us" by the Philadelphia 76ers for his volunteer work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeastern Pennsylvania. He’s lived in Philadelphia since graduating from Haverford College in 2006.
